In the year 1071, the Byzantine Empire stands on the brink of collapse. The Seljuk Turks have invaded Anatolia, and the emperor has been defeated in battle. Amidst this chaos, a young soldier named Alexios Komnenos emerges as a beacon of hope.
Alexios is a skilled warrior and a brilliant strategist. He rallies his men and leads them to a series of stunning victories against the Turks. But his path to glory is not without its challenges. He must navigate treacherous political waters, and he must also contend with the love of his life, Anna Dalassena.
