About the Author
Eduardo Machado was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1953. He came to the United States in 1960, and he has lived in New York City ever since. Machado is a poet, essayist, and translator. He has published seven books of poetry, including Asperity Street Poems, which won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Poetry in 2009. Machado's work has been translated into over twenty languages.
