It all started with the death of his wife. Lester, being the dutiful husband, took out a life insurance policy on her. But when she died in a freak accident, the insurance company refused to pay out. They claimed it was a suicide, and suicide wasn't covered under the policy.

Lester was furious. He knew his wife would never have killed herself. He decided to take matters into his own hands. He would sue the insurance company into the ground. But first, he needed to find a lawyer.

Enter Jack "The Hammer" Magruder, a sleazy ambulance-chasing lawyer with a reputation for getting results. Jack agreed to take Lester's case, but only if Lester would do him a small favor. Jack needed someone to take care of a problem he had.

And so, Lester Dugan, the mild-mannered insurance salesman, became an accidental hit man. He started out with just one hit, but soon he found himself spiraling down a path of violence and mayhem. He killed people for money, for revenge, and even just for the fun of it.
