- Worsted weight yarn in two colors (I used white and brown)
- Size H crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Black felt
- Yellow felt
- Scissors
Instructions
- With white yarn, make a magic ring. (To make a magic ring, make a loop with your yarn, insert your hook into the loop, and pull up a loop. *Yarn over and pull through both loops on your hook. Repeat from * two more times, then tighten the ring.)
- Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet). Double crochet 11 times into the ring. Slip stitch to join. (12 dc)
- Chain 2, turn. Double crochet in each stitch around. Slip stitch to join. (12 dc)
- Chain 2, turn. *Double crochet in the next 2 stitches, double crochet 2 stitches together. Repeat from * around. Slip stitch to join. (18 dc)
- Chain 2, turn. *Double crochet in the next 3 stitches, double crochet 2 stitches together. Repeat from * around. Slip stitch to join. (24 dc)
- Chain 2, turn. Double crochet in each stitch around. Slip stitch to join. (24 dc)
- Chain 2, turn. *Double crochet in the next 4 stitches, double crochet 2 stitches together. Repeat from * around. Slip stitch to join. (30 dc)
- Chain 2, turn. Double crochet in each stitch around. Slip stitch to join. (30 dc)
- Chain 2, turn. *Double crochet in the next 5 stitches, double crochet 2 stitches together. Repeat from * around. Slip stitch to join. (36 dc)
- Chain 2, turn. Double crochet in each stitch around. Slip stitch to join. (36 dc)
- Change to brown yarn. Chain 2, turn. *Double crochet in the next 6 stitches, double crochet 2 stitches together. Repeat from * around. Slip stitch to join. (42 dc)
- Chain 2, turn. Double crochet in each stitch around. Slip stitch to join. (42 dc)
- Chain 2, turn. *Double crochet in the next 7 stitches, double crochet 2 stitches together. Repeat from * around. Slip stitch to join. (48 dc)
- Chain 2, turn. Double crochet in each stitch around. Slip stitch to join. (48 dc)
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
- Cut two circles out of black felt for the eyes. Cut a triangle out of yellow felt for the beak.
- Glue the eyes and beak to the owl's face.

- You can use any color yarn you like to make the owl. I used white and brown, but you could also use pink and purple, blue and green, or any other color combination you like.
- You can adjust the size of the owl by using a different size hook or yarn. If you want to make a smaller owl, use a smaller hook. If you want to make a larger owl, use a larger hook.
